WHAT YOU MISS WHEN YOU MISS OUT

Does this ever happen to you?  You make a decision to not attend something that later you could kick myself for missing. Maybe you’re too busy, too tired or the event/speaker just doesn’t seem interesting enough. Later, you find out that you missed an extraordinary experience.  It happens to me way too often to mention!

Did you miss Etta May at her benefit performance for our scholarship fund? If so, you missed an evening of uproarious comedy and a chance to make a difference in the lives of women attending college in Kentucky. Women and men of all ages connected with friends, raised money for a great cause and had a delightful evening. Go ahead and kick yourself if you didn’t attend.

wlk-rt-082016Did you miss Etta May as the guest speaker at our Roundtable Luncheon? If you did you missed a heartwarming personal narrative of how this woman who makes her living as a stand-up comic has overcome adversity and how she learned to find the gift in every situation no matter how good or how bad. We laughed with her, we cried with her. To quote one of my favorite lines: “Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion” (Truvy, Steel Magnolia’s). She gave us a new way of thinking about our lives and our professions as we travel around on a double Ferris Wheel; a new paradigm versus the Corporate Ladder of the past. At the end, she received a standing ovation. In the three years that I have been here, there has only been one other standing ovation. People have been talking about the lunch ever since, they were amazed by how open, honest and inspiring she was, remarking that she was one of the best speakers we have ever had.  Go ahead and kick yourself if you didn’t attend.

Have you ever attended a Networking After Hours? We have all attended similar events and we know how people stand around in cliques and don’t welcome others into their little circle. It is our goal that you have the opportunity to make real connections with success-driven professionals such as yourself in an atmosphere that is fun and engaging. Our next Networking After Hours is Wednesday, September 14th on the patio at the Hilton Suites in Lexington Green from 5:30 – 7pm. What might you lose out on if you don’t attend? We don’t want you to kick yourself for missing this event.
